Spread or Point: Not a Sports Reference

They’re two of the many options of shirt collar styles. During this wedding adventure, there have been so many decisions, but I had not the slightest idea that there were multiple shirt collars to choose from. I seriously thought my dad was referring to a ball game.  #themoreyouknow

My personal preference is the “point” style for more formal occasions…

The “spread” is also a solid option, too, though!

In other news…only 24 days till we get hitched! It has flown by faster than I could have imagined, but we are so excited for the start of our lives together. This weekend, we head up to NC for a couple of wedding-related gatherings and I am excited about meeting Nate’s close family friends & relatives. Fun times, for sure!

Hope yall are enjoying the beautiful spring weather that has finally arrived!

CH-CH-CH-CHAAANGES…

So, so much has happened since I last posted! Most of you know, but I recently started a new job in Atlanta working with USTA Southern, the regional office of that oversees nine states throughout the southeast. I started in early February, after SNOWPOCALYPSE shut down the city…which I am HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY about!

I started in early February, so it’s been QUITE the whirlwind with “moving”, starting a new job, packing, and last but not least, planning the wedding with Nate! It was such a huge decision, but we are so blessed and happy that this great opportunity was put out there for us both. Atlanta has so many things to offer, and we can’t wait to dive into it!  My Aunt Janet (mom’s sister) and her family have been wonderful in opening their home to me–allowing me to stay here until we find a place that we love.  It’s been fun living with some family again after flying solo for so long.

On Nate’s first trip to Hotlanta, the agenda includes apartment shopping. Where to live, where to live in this big ‘ol city? We will let ya know soon enough!

Hope all’s well with all y’all. xoxo

weekend adventures

Last weekend, we made the trip to visit Nate’s Family in Elkin, North Carolina.  We had a great trip and were able to see a ton of his family, most of who we haven’t seen since Christmas.

After breakfast on Saturday, we headed to Uncle Ned’s property to play in the river with the nephews (Sam & Jackson) and niece (Maddie).  It was a beautiful day to play in the river & on the rocks with the kids.  “Uncle Nate” even played superhero, rescuing Sam’s lost croc that slipped off and floated down the river…

We hosted a cookout that was wonderful with some more of his family, including his granddad & grandmother, who we haven’t seen in quite some time.  It was a great night sittin’ out on the back porch hanging out with everyone!

Father’s Day Sunday included breakfast & church.  After church, we were so fortunate to get to visit with the Jones family (Mr. Johnny, Mrs. Donna, Wes, Pat, and Liz), who Nate grew up with.  Again, it was the first time in several months we’ve seen them, the first since we got engaged, and it made us both feel so blessed to have such a wonderful group of people who love and support us! We headed back to Cola-town after church so we could hang out with my daddy on Father’s Day and watch the Tar Heels play some baseball.

We will be heading to Cherry Grove for a mini-vacay with Pat & Liz (who married in November 2012) this weekend–so excited!

Have a wonderful rest of the week–it’s all downhill from here!

Love,

Jess
