It’s almost here…and I can’t wait!  At this point, if it hasn’t gotten done, it will not be done.  I am SO excited to get hitched to the love of my life with our awesome family and friends on Saturday.  Here we go, y’all!

3 days.

Spread or Point: Not a Sports Reference

They’re two of the many options of shirt collar styles. During this wedding adventure, there have been so many decisions, but I had not the slightest idea that there were multiple shirt collars to choose from. I seriously thought my dad was referring to a ball game.  #themoreyouknow

My personal preference is the “point” style for more formal occasions…

The “spread” is also a solid option, too, though!

In other news…only 24 days till we get hitched! It has flown by faster than I could have imagined, but we are so excited for the start of our lives together. This weekend, we head up to NC for a couple of wedding-related gatherings and I am excited about meeting Nate’s close family friends & relatives. Fun times, for sure!

Hope yall are enjoying the beautiful spring weather that has finally arrived!

xoxo

What’s my name again?

Addressing invitations is the current task at hand for the upcoming wedding festivities. This is an exciting (We get to celebrate with all of these amazing friends and family!) but tedious (I haven’t written this much cursive since…high school? 10 years ago?) task. Some silly (BUT REAL!) thoughts have gone through my mind, including but not limited to the following:

•Is that really where my parents live?
•His real name is what again?
•How in the world do you write that letter in cursive?
•Is that really how my daddy spells his name?
•That envelope was JUST HERE…how did I misplace it?! I haven’t moved in 3 hours!
•Stamps are really sticky
•Did I just stuff that envelope wrong? (After it is sealed, with postage)
•Do I really need this many extra envelopes (the answer is yes, always yes)?
•Am I absolutely positive that the wedding is on that day?
•I’m still not sure that daddy’s name is spelled right
•How in God’s green earth did people do this without a spreadsheet?! TORTURE!!

Anywho, just a random wedding musing for this Monday night. Invites out soon!! Less than two months ’till I’m Mrs. Harrell!

CH-CH-CH-CHAAANGES…

So, so much has happened since I last posted! Most of you know, but I recently started a new job in Atlanta working with USTA Southern, the regional office of that oversees nine states throughout the southeast. I started in early February, after SNOWPOCALYPSE shut down the city…which I am HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY about!

I started in early February, so it’s been QUITE the whirlwind with “moving”, starting a new job, packing, and last but not least, planning the wedding with Nate! It was such a huge decision, but we are so blessed and happy that this great opportunity was put out there for us both. Atlanta has so many things to offer, and we can’t wait to dive into it!  My Aunt Janet (mom’s sister) and her family have been wonderful in opening their home to me–allowing me to stay here until we find a place that we love.  It’s been fun living with some family again after flying solo for so long.

On Nate’s first trip to Hotlanta, the agenda includes apartment shopping. Where to live, where to live in this big ‘ol city? We will let ya know soon enough!

Hope all’s well with all y’all. xoxo

Yeah, it’s been a while..

It’s been 182 days (give or take a couple)since I’ve posted.  New year, and I pretty much totally forgot about this whole “blogging” thing.  Just a few things have happened since…

Lauren & Wes’ Wedding (referenced in last post): July 2013.  It was awesome, and was a wonderful celebration of two friends I hold near and dear.  Lauren, who I’ve known since about 2009, was a beautiful bride and her groom, Wes, was so handsome and happy! I was so thrilled and blessed that they asked me to be a part of their special day.  Their wedding was held in the historic USC Horseshoe in Rutledge Chapel, and reception just across the way at the McCutcheon House.  There may or may not have been a few moments of panic when an important door was locked–thankful for a very responsive USC PD, haha.  Here are a couple of pictures from the day:

Lauren & Caleb’s Engagement Party: also July 2013

So many exciting & fun festivities! Their engagement party was held at a clubhouse of a local pool and was so much fun.   It was great seeing the extended families and friends mingle and celebrate the wonderful couple.

We also had a few other things…our engagement party, trip to NYC, a couple of Carolina Football seasons (garnet or carolina blue, depending on which state you’re in), and we’ve officially entered the wedding year!!   New Year’s resolution: 1 blog post a week. Squeaked today’s in.

Catching Up (already…)

SO…we’ve had a whirlwind couple of weeks. In late June, we had the opportunity to spend the weekend at Cherry Grove Beach with Pat (Nate’s childhood best friend) and his wife Liz at her grandparents’ beach house. Other than their wedding, this was the first time all of us have had the chance to spend some quality time together, and it was a BLAST! From staying up late and chatting about everything under the sun to playing on the beach, it was a wonderful time. They will be moving to London in the fall for a couple of years while Liz pursues her PhD, so it was perfect timing for us to get together for a few days before they head overseas!

The delicious meal we made Saturday night.  so. much. food.

After returning from the beach, Nate accepted an offer to get back into the golf tournament world, so I returned to Charleston the following weekend to help him pack and see all of our friends. Another awesome weekend! Friday we grilled out with Zack (one of Nate’s work friends) his wife Kasey, with their twin four year olds Zeb and Jax, which is always a fun time. Their neighbors Lee (also a work buddy) and his wife Liz came over as well and we spent the evening chatting…mostly about North Carolina as I was the only born and raised South Carolinian there. The next day, we packed up some of Nate’s things and met a big group of friends at a nearby restaurant for a going away meal. It meant so much to him that all of the people-from work, roommates, and many friends in general came to hang out. We followed dinner with a couple of games if pool and some ping pong and called it a night. Sunday was spent doing some more packing and we went to dinner at Hyman’s in downtown Charleston, which hit the spot for our seafood craving!

After an awesome weekend in Charleston, it was back to a short work week filled with a ridiculous amount of rainy weather, which squelched the pool/lake plans for our weekend house sitting for some family friends. We still had fun, had a short boat trip on Daddy’s birthday that quickly turned Ito a DOWNPOUR with difficulty docking the boat. I feel confident I have never been so wet in my life, but you cannot beat this view…

Another post to come VERY soon to give a recap of the Quick-Todd Wedding!
